APR and Rayon Sports faced off at Stade Amaholo in Rwanda Premier league top of the table clash and biggest derby in the country.

The Army side, went into the encounter three points adrift their rivals with an eye on the number one spot.

Striker, Issa Bigirimana got APR an all important goal, that did not only win the Jimmy Mulusa drilled side the derby but dislodged Rayon Sport at the helm.

It was the 79th Kigali derby overall–but 46th meeting in the league. APR have dominated with 18 wins, Rayon Sports 13 times winners and 14 encounters ending on level terms.

In 2017 CAF Champions league, Zanaco play hosts to APR first, on the weekend of 10-12 February before travelling to Kigali for the second leg.
