Kenyan Premier League Awards gala for 2017 has been postponed to January next year to give room for the forthcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge.

The red carpet event was planned for 13th December after the regional tourney which was initially scheduled to end before the gathering of top league performers.

But due to “unavoidable circumstances”, according to the organizers, the tournament will now start 3rd to 17th December.

“The new date for the awards will be communicated in due course,” a statement from KPL said.

The league’s Chief Executive Officer had earlier confirmed to Soka25east that betting giants Sportpesa will sponsor the event this year.

For over ten years, pay television company Supersport footed the bill till this year when its broadcast deal with KPL was terminated.
