Veteran Ethiopian referee, Lidya Abebe Tafesse has been selected to officiate Ghana vs Algeria 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) opener. Soka25east.com can confirm

The former Basketball player is making her 12th appearance at the continental showpiece.

38-year-old Abebe will be assisted on the lines by Queency Victoire of Mauritius and Mary Wanjiru of Kenya.

Maria Rivet of Mauritius will act as Fourth Official.

The crucial game will come off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday Nov 17 at 3:30Pm.

She was named to officiate in the FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Canada in 2015.

The experienced middlewoman was nominated for the best referee award for the premier league in the 2014/2015 Ethiopian Premier League.
