AFCON 2015:Ghana Sneak Through as Senegal and S.Africa head home

By Fredrick Naduli Aka Razor,

RSA 1-2 Ghana

Ghana demonstrated mental character to come from a goal down and beat South Africa to sneak into the quarter finals at the expense of Senegal. On a chilly night at the Estadio de Mongoma,Bafana Bafana went ahead through a cracking effort from Masango on seventeen minutes. They pressed forward when maybe they should have taken the opportunity to slow their momentum.Substitute John Boye pulled Ghana level on seventy two minutes from an Andre Ayew miscued shot. The Marseille winger put the Black Stars ahead and through with a brave header eight minutes from time.

Algeria 2-1 Senegal

The Desert Foxes proved why they lead the rest of the pack in Africa with a somewhat easy victory over the Lions of Teranga down in Malabo. Some slack marking and disjointed offside trap allowed Mahrez to ghost in behind the defence and score on ten minutes.Bentaleb put the tie to bed with eight minutes to go,drilling in a low shot as the Senegal backline was caught square.
