AFCON-2017: Harambee Stars head to camp for Zambia clash

Kenya’s Harambee Stars will commence camp on Monday, August 31 ahead of the much anticipated clash against Zambia in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 33 man squad named by head Coach Bobby Williamson a week ago is expected to report to residential camp at Mvuli House Nairobi West from Monday morning with full house training at Nyayo stadium starting on Tuesday if all go according to plan.

Stars opponents Zambia have been in camp for three weeks now, occasionally breaking to allow players to feature for their teams in the Zambia Super League which is currently in the second leg.

Kenya drew 1-1 away to Congo Brazzaville while Zambia were forced to a barren against Guinea Bissau at home in their respective opening group matches of the qualifiers.

Stars camp will welcome back former skipper Dennis Oliech currently unattached and former Parma and Intermilan midfielder MacDonald Mariga who have not featured for the national team since last year.

Also in the team is international defender David Ownino Odhiambo who is currently with Zambian champions Zesco United.

The match will be staged at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on September 6.
