Afcon 2017 Qualifier: Kenya’s Harambee Stars squad to face Congo today revealed

Harambee Stars coach Bobby Williamson will embrace a 4-4-2 formation with defence being his big option when his charges face off with Congo today in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal the starting team that will do duty today in what could be a fresh start for the Harambee Stars.

Goalkeeper:

Bonface Oluoch starts between the sticks in the absence of first choice keeper Arnold Origi.Oluoch is a confident pair of hands has he has managed  to keep 11 clean sheets for his club Gor Mahia and the same form is expected to be replicated against Congo

Defenders:

Willimson has settled on the traditional 4 defenders with Aboud Omar playing on the left with express instructions not to move too much upfront .

Jackson Saleh(AFC Leopards),David Owino aka Calabar(Zesco) and David Ochieng aka Cheche(Al Tawoon) will marshal the central defence and the right back respectively where they are expected to create a no go zone for the Congo marauding strikers.

Midfielders:

Southampton’s Victor Wanyama will lead the midfield battle ably assisted by Ayub Timbe(Genk), Collins Okoth aka Gatusso and Paul Were as the winger plying the flanks in one of the best defensive and attacking approach on offer.

Strikers:

Allan Wanga(Al Mereikh) and Michael Olunga(Gor Mahia) are the two strikers expected to get goals for Kenya in the ding dong battle against Congo.They have their work cut out and are both known for scoring important goals for both club and country.
