Algeria registered a routine 3-0 win against Guinea in a round of 16 tie of the Africa Cup of Nations played at 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday night.
Goals from Youcef Belaili, Riyad Mahrez and Adam Ounas gave the Desert Foxes an easy win to advance to the quarterfinals.
Belaili opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a neat finish latching onto a Baghdad Bounedjah backheel.
Man City forward Riyad Mahrez doubled Algeria’s lead in the 57th minute before Adam Ounas completed the damage 8 minutes from the final whistle.
Algeria will meet either Mali or Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals.
