Afcon 2019: Kwesi Appiah names three debutants in Ghana’s squad to face Benin

Kwesi Appiah has announced a strong Ghana line-up for tonight’s Afcon 2019 game against Benin.

The Ghanaian coach has handed three debutants Hibernian winger, Thomas Agyapong, TSG Hoffeinham defender, Kasim Nuhu and Goztepe left-back, Lumor Agbenyenu a start against the Squirrels.

General captain Asamoah Gyan, Deputy captain, Kwadwo Asamoah and Columbus Crew defender, Jonathan Mensah have all been dropped to the bench.

The match will take place at the Ismailia Stadium in Ismailia at 8Pm.

The Black Stars will be hoping for a perfect start to their campaign ahead of their titatic clash against the defending champions, Cameroon at the same venue on Saturday, June 29.

The four-time champions will take on Guinea in their last Group F game at the Suez Stadium, Tuesday, July 2.

Referee Youssef Essrayri from Tunisia will be the man in charge of this crucial encounter.
