Comoros U-17 beat Mozambique 2-1 in 2017 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifying match played at the Moroni stadium on 6th August 2016.

The Les Coelecantes started in a high note with Phalef Sharaf coming closer quite a number of times but notably the 30 minute when he almost beat offside trap to open the scoring.

Danger man Rakib Ali was the main provider of passes upfront and his opportunity came on 44th minute when he registered an opener with a hard shot beating the Mozambique goalkeeper to make it 1-0 at the end of first half.

In the second half Comoros seemingly put down all their challenges and went to the game fully braced for a victory with Ayman Mohammed and Rakib Ali combining well.

It only took 15 minutes before lethal striker Ayman Mohamed widened the gap with a nice taken shot to make it 2-0.

Mozambique came closer with clear scoring intentions on the 83rd and 88th minutes respectively with Comoros Keeper standing out in saves. Phani Awasheq shot landed in the back of the net in the 90th minute to give Mozambique their first goal.

Both teams will meet after two weeks for the return leg in Mozambique capital,Maputo.
