Ghana’s Black Starlet are expected to fly out to Niger on Monday for the 2019 CAF U-17 WAFU Zone B qualifying competition.

Starlets coach Abdul Karim Zito is expected to announce a 25-man contigent for the trip.

Moreso, the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko gaffer will prune down the squad to 21 for the qualification tournament.

The Black Starlets are housed in Group A of the qualifying Zone B alongside hosts Niger and Togo

Group B consist of Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

The zonal championship will run from 2nd to 15th September, 2018.

The winners of this zonal tournament secures qualification as one of eight teams to participate in the 2019 U-17 Afcon.

The competition will come off in Tanzania from 12-16 May, 2019.

This qualifying tournament is a new format adopted by CAF to increase participation at the level of teams in the qualifiers and enhanced expose and competitiveness by getting all involved.
