Ethiopia national side the Walia Ibex has touched down in Accra Ghana for the Sunday’s 2019 Afcon qualifying group F clash against the hosts in Kumasi.

Head coach Ashanifu lead the squad of twenty two plus other officials to the West African country early Thursday.

An initial group of thirty players was trimmed to the final twenty two with eight players left behind in Addis Ababa. However, the eight will remain in camp in the capital as the coach seeks to continue with CHAN 2018 preparations on return.

On the list to Accra is among others the leading African Champions League top scorer on six goals Salhadin Said.

The St. George forward has enjoyed top form in the Ethiopian Premier League where he has netted 15 times.

Also in the itinerary is the EPL golden boot favorite Getaneh Kebede, who shook the net 22 times for Dedebit FC and Omued Okuri who has scored 10 goals in the Egyptian topflight.

The Walias played three warm-ups against Defense Force B – winning 4-0 before drawing Uganda Cranes 0-0 and finally thrashing Fasil Kenema 3-0.

Ethiopia are seeking a return to the Afcon since last appearance in 2013.

The team will connect to Kumasi the venue of the match later.
