Egyptian giants Al Ahly recovered from the 2-0 loss to Ugandan side KCCA in May to register a deserved 3-0 win against visitors Township Rollers from Botswana in the CAF Champions League group stage.

Al Ahly were breathing fire as they broke Rollers with goals from Moroccan Walid Azaro,Ali Maaloul and Islam Moharb to record their first win.

Al Ahly pilled pressure from the onset of the game and the effort paid off handsomely just as the first half break approach when Ghanaian Junior Ajayi sublime pass found a well placed Walid Azaro who fired in rocket past Rollers keeper Mwampole Masule to give the host 1-0 lead as they went to the break.

Al Ahly came from the break with the same vigour breathing fire with wave after wave of attack but Rollers defenders remained adamant thwarting most attempts to keep the score line descent.

Tunisian fullback  Nabil Maaloul  doubled the lead for Al Ahly from the spot kick  to give the hosts a 2-0 lead  as Islam Mohard put matters beyond Township Rollers with a fine header that beat a hapless  Mwampole Masule who remained sprawled on the ground from exposed by the defence line  as Al Ahly  took a 3-0 lead holding to the comfortable scoreline until the final whistle.

Al Ahly will travel to face Township at the Botswana National Stadium on July 27 for the return leg on the 28th July 28 in Gaborone.
