Algeria midfielder Belkebla sent home for indiscipline

Algeria midfielder Haris Belkebla has been sent home after showing his bottom live on a Fortnite stream.

The popular online game was being played by Alexandre Oukidja at 1am at night on PlayStation 4, when the Brest midfielder flashed his trousers down live on air for no reason whatsoever.

Belkebla is expected to be replaced by either Saphir Taider (Montreal Impact) or Mohamed Benkhemassa (USM Alger). Belkebla was not used in  Algeria’s 1-1 draw against Burundi.

It is another unnecessary problem in the squad, but it shows just how firm manager DJamel Belmadi is with his ruthless decision making. He will call a central midfielder as a replacement. Nabil Bentaleb was expected to have an operation over the summer.

Haris Belkebla was the only member of the Algeria squad to have never been capped, and it looks like it will remain that way for some time. He only played at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

Algeria are already struggling in this area of the field. Galatasaray winger Sofiane Feghouli is already being used out of position from the right wing.

Taider would bring tournament experience, having played the 2014 World Cup, also in Brazil, as well as many other tournaments with the North Africans.
