When the final whistle was blown at the San Siro stadium in Milan signalling the end of Italy’s dream to feature in the World cup,Kenyans were a happy lot as one of their own joined the celebrations to grace the 2018 world cup in Russia

 

For a second consecutive World Cup ,another Kenyan born will make his maiden appearance .

Martin Tony Waikwa Olsson, a Swedish professional footballer who plays for Swansea City and the Sweden national and who  has been instrumental for the Swedish team in the World cup qualifiers  will play in the finals

He was in the bench in both legs of the World Cup Europe Play offs when Sweden sent Italy packing ensuring they feature in the world cup .

Martin Olsson was born in Gävle, Sweden.He has a twin brother, Marcus, who plays for Derby County. They are born to a Swedish father and Kenyan mother.

 

Martin will be the second Kenyan born player to feature in the tournament after Belgium’s Divock Origi who is born to Kenyan parents

The two will feature in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia for their respective countries
