Burkina Faso have handed an invite to Asante Kotoko attacker Songne Yacouba for their ultimate 2019 Afcon qualifier against Mauritania on Friday, March 22, 2019.

The 27-year-old driving forward made his debut in an international friendly against Kazakhstan in 2015 and Benin – Home and Away.

Yacouba has been impressive in the ongoing 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup for Asante Kotoko, scoring two goals and providing five assists in nine games. 

He joined the Porcupine Warriors from Stade Malien in August 2018.

Yacouba will miss Asante Kotoko’s vital and last game against Zesco United due to suspension.

Following their sterling performances in the competition, teammates Amos Frimpong, Felix Annan and Kwame Bonsu have also been called up by Coach Kwesi Appiah for Ghana’s final game against Kenya on Saturday, March 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
