Coach Bruce Mwape has named his final list to compete at the continental women’s competition which kicks off next week in Ghana

Zambia have confirmed their final 21-woman squad for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations to be held in Ghana this month.

Coach Bruce Mwape will lead the Shepolopolo to a second senior women championship outing in Ghana, with three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and five strikers.

The list is made up of six players who featured in their debut campaign in Namibia in 2014 ( Hellen Mubanga, Hazel Nali, Anita Muelnga, Grace Zulu and Mary Mwakapila).

Also listed is Barbara Banda, who scored the team’s only goal at the 2014 edition and scored three goals to fire the nation past Tanzania and Zimbabwe to qualify for the showpiece in Ghana.

On Tuesday, Mwape disclosed that the team, who began their preparation with a 3-2 comeback win over hosts Ghana, will hit Ivory Coast on Thursday where they will play some test matches.

They will be joined by striker Banda in Abidjan before heading to Cape Coast, where they will face Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa in Group B during the tournament.
