Cecafa club champions and Tanzanian moneybags Azam FC are raring to go for the second leg of the Vodacom Premier league.

Speaking to the clubs official portal, Azam head coach Zeben Hernandez, who took the squad to their paces after reporting back today to training from their 2 weeks break was happy to have his players back and fit for the second leg with only 3 players Erasto Nyoni and Ghanaian duo of Samuel Afful and Yahaya Mohammed missing from the squad.

“We have begun our training today on a high note because of the resumption of the second leg, we have started by training once today and we will train twice tomorrow in the morning and in the evening in order to be fully fit ahead of the fierce competition. At the moment we are waiting on the players who are yet to report to training (Erasto, Yahaya and Afful) will join us tomorrow.”

In an effort to beef up the squads defence, the Spaniard has recalled Central defender Abdallah Kheri from Ndanda FC where he had been on loan.

Azam FC are currently third in the league with 25 points and kickoff their second leg campaign against African Lyon on 18th December at the Uhuru National Stadium in Dar es salaam.
