The Federation of Congolese Football Association has suspended it’s General Secretary Patrick Banashayi over AS Vita Club’s exit in CAF Champions league.

AS Vita Club were thrown out of the 2016 CAF Champions league group stages for using an eneligble player.Idriss Traore was suspended before switching sides from Stade Malien, but the Congolese giants used him in their preliminary rounds tie against Zanziba’s Mafunzo.

However,Banashayi claims Fecofa President Omari Selimani’s accusations are just defamatory and Derogatory. He blames the Club for not forwarding a list of suspended players after he had communicated to CAF.

Vita’s disqualication in CAF Champions league did not go well with Fecofa and it has caused tension within the federation.
