Ugandan international Hassan Mawanda Wasswa has joined Egyptian Premier League side Tela’ea Al Gaish on a two-year deal from Lebanon's Nejmeh SC.

Wasswa, 29, has been in Egypt where he played for the Uganda Cranes in Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to the hosts in the Russia World Cup qualifying match at Borg El Arab Stadium.

His agent Ronnie Santos Mwine Fred confirmed the move, “I thank God and I appreciate the work done by partner Hossam to finalize the deal in my absence.”

The foremost East Africa FIFA player agent expressed confidence that his client is in the right place.

“The Egyptian topflight is one of the best in Africa and I’m positive it’s a move in the right direction for Wasswa in his career. Tela’ea Al Gaish is very ambitious and I believe together they can grow.”

The club belongs to the Egyptian armed forces. They play their home matches at Cairo Military Academy Stadium, Cairo.

Tela’ea Al Gaish finished seventh in the 2016/17 EPL season.
