Uganda U-23 team (The Kobs) suffered a heart breaking 2-0 loss against a brilliant  South Sudan during the return leg of the Total Afcon U-23 qualifier played at the Juba Stadium.

Peter Michael Taku and Makueth Wol Keen Nguet scored the two goals that gave the home side victory in the game.

South Sudan now overturns the first leg result as they qualify 2-1 on aggregate to face Tunisia at the next stage of the qualifiers.

The result proved remarkable for South Sudan who only gained independence from the Republic of Sudan in 2011 and whose senior team cannot make it to Afcon 2019 after failing to record a point after five games.

They now progresses to the penultimate round of the qualifiers where Tunisia awaits.
