Zesco United defender and Zambian International, Fackson Kapumbu has been nominated for the 2017 Aiteo African Player of year, both based in Africa and anywhere else.

Kapumbu is the only Zambian on the list, joined by his Super league compatriot from Uganda and Buildcon striker, Geoffrey Serrunkuma.

The Ugandan has been probably been nominated for winning the golden boot in his native country, prior joining Buildcon amid the 2017 Super league season.

The 2017 CAF Awards will be staged next year in Nigeria. And Kalusha Bwalya remains the only Zambian to have won the African player of the year Accolade.
