CAF Champions League Quarterfinals pairs up giants of Africa

The Draw for the Total CAF Champions League Quarterfinals has seen giants of Africa paired up in what promises to be a thrilling road to the final.

The draw was conducted on Friday (30 April 2021) at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly will lock horns with South African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The tie pits Pitso Mosimane against his former club Sundowns and this is definitely one of the most exciting fixtures in recent years.

MC Alger of Algeria will face Wydad AC from Morocco while another Algerian side CR Belouizdad will play Esperance of Tunisia.

Another fixture of of interest sees Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa clash with Tanzanian Champions Simba SC.

CAF Director of competitions Samson Adamu assisted by Cote d’Ivoire legend Abdoulaye Traore ran the draw process that revealed some thrilling encounters in the continent’s premier rclub competition road to the final.

The Quarterfinals of the Total CAF Champions League are billed for the month of May with the 1st leg set for 14 and 15 May, 2021 while the second leg is scheduled for 21 and 22 May, 2021.

QF 1 – Al Ahly (Egypt) v Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

QF 2 – MC Alger (Algeria) v Wydad AC (Morocco)

QF 3 – CR Belouizdad (Algeria) v Esperance (Tunisia)

QF 4 – Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) v Simba (Tanzania)
