USM Alger became the first club to book a last four berth with a comfortable 1-0 win over struggling MC El Eulma on Friday 7th at the Messaoud Zoughar El Eulma stadium.This was USM Alger fourth straight win in Group B and with the win,they attain 12 points.They are now assured of a worst second place that is if they lose their remaing two fixtures to Al merreikh and Entente Setif.
El Eulma now playing in the second tier of the Algerian league after they were relegated to the second tier in june found the going tough losing their fourth match in a row.they remain winless in the group.
In another group B match,Al mereikh will host Entente setif today sunday in Omdurman,both teams are tied on 4 points after winning a match each and drawing one,they both lost to leaders USM Alger.
In Group A,TP Mazembe stayed 3 points clear at the top of the table with only two matches remaining.The Lubumbashi based club beat Smouha of Egypt by a solitary goal slotted in by Ivory coast international Roger Assale.Mazembe will travel to Omdurman in two weeks time to clash with Al hilal,with victory sending them to the last 4.Smouha on the other side will travel to Morrocco to meet moghreb Tetouan who surprised hosts Al Hilal at their Omdurman backyard in apparently their first victory in the group.Al Hilal fell to a 24th minute penalty by Ahmed Jahouh after Atir Magor fell Yassin Lakhal.Salah Jizoli came close to n equalizer but Youness Bellakhdar cleared from the line.
