A CAF inspection team is currently visiting Ethiopia to assess preparations for Championship of African Nations (CHAN )2020. The inspection team has already toured stadiums and hotels in Hawasa and Bahir Dar where they held talks with Amhara Regional State President Gedu Andargachew  about ongoing preparations.

The decision to send a CAF  inspection  team to Ethiopia was reached during the body’s Executive Committee meeting in Casablanca on in January 2018  so as to avoid the Kenya debacle witnessed before CAF settled for Morocco as hosts for the 2018 edition of CHAN.

Ethiopia Football Federation(EFF) President Junedin Basha alluded to the fact the high powered delegation was happy with the developments.

“The CAF inspection team has been in Ethiopia and they have been able to visit several stadiums across different regions in the country.The inspection tour has been very enlightening as we get to know more specifics on any areas we can improve”
