CECAFA KAGAME CUP-2015: Yanga edge out Khartoum, book a date with Azam

By Bonface Osano,

The highly contested encounter was staged at the National Stadium on Sunday 26,2015.

Amisi Tambwe free header in the 31st minute was the difference in the cracker of a match which left the predominantly Yanga fans on the the edge of their seats the full length of the match. The number of missed chances and point black saves by Yanga keeper who was named man of the match sums up the beautiful evening of football.

Khartoum Coach Kwesi Appiah made tactical changes bringing to play Captain Salah Bilal who started from the bench and Ousmalia Baba who scored in their last match against Gor, but the Young Africans held on to the last whistle.

The result means Gor Mahia who previously beat Djibouti Telecom 3-1 tops group A with ten points, displacing Al Khartoum to third and Yanga moving to second.

Yanga will face fellow Tanzanians Azam FC in the quarters next week.
