Libya thumped Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in the CHAN 2018 group ‘C’ match at Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier, Morocco Monday.

Al Ahli Tripoli forward Saleh Taher Saeid was the toast for the Desert Foxes grabbing a brace with Zakaria Alharash adding the third to seal the three-star performance.

It took the 2014 champions just 11 minutes to break the deadlock through Saleh, who drilled home Mohamed Abrahim’s left cross past Equatorial Guinea’s goalkeeper Miguel Angel.

The 25-year-old grabbed his brace seven minutes later with a glancing header off another Abrahim’s assist for a comfortable 2-0 half time lead.

The second stanza was no difference for the Libyans who continued to exert their authority with unmatched tactical finesse.

Substitute Zakaria made it 3-0 with two minutes left – firing home from inside the box Abrahim’s cut back after a superb solo effort.

Libya go top of the group on three points pending Nigeria versus Rwanda outcome later tonight.
