Congo Brazzavile coach Barthemely Ngatsano is delighted with his team’s goalless draw against DR Congo in the 2018 CHAN third round, first leg clash played at the New Kintele Stadium in Brazzaville on Friday.

Ngatsono, whose side face Leopards in the return leg fixture on August 19 said picking a point before a meagre crowd estimated at 20, 000 spectators was not a bad start. He said Red Devils played a good game, dominated play but only failed to put the ball behind the net.

“The score suits us because it is still not established that if you play at home, you have to win. There are previous games that proved that.”

The local Red Devils  coach has remained optimistic that the second leg with be what his boys will need to beat the Leopards at their own backyard.

“We know we have nothing to lose. We played against the defending champions and we were not favorites. We still did our little bit. In the second leg, the DRC will be under more pressure than we are. We will correct what did not work in the first leg, develop a strategy to qualify. Because it is our goal, “concluded Barthelemy Ngatsono, the coach of the local Red Devils.
