Rwanda’s Amavubi will stage a ten-day camp in Tunisia ahead of the CHAN 2018 finals in Morocco early next year.

The final squad of 23 will leave for Tunisia on 2nd January for the camp that will run up to the tournament’s kickoff eve on 11th January.

German gaffer Antoine Hey explained the importance of the camp especially after a low key CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya.

“This is yet another good opportunity to get the players together on the training pitch and to build on previous work.

“It was important that we organize this camp to address a couple of issues moving forward,” the former Kenya’s Harambee Stars coach said.

Rwanda were knocked out of the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya after doing down 2-0 to hosts Kenya, 3-1 to finalists Zanzibar and drawing against Libya.

The Amavubi’s only win in the regional competition came against Tanzania whom they beat 2-1.

In Morocco, Rwanda, who reached the quarterfinals of the last edition of the continental championship preserved for home-based professionals, are pooled alongside Nigeria, Libya and Equatorial Guinea in group C.

The tournament that was initially slated for Kenya will run from 12th January to 4th February across four cities of Morocco.
