Toto Africans seek to stop Yanga’s fine run as Vodacom league enters home stretch

Toto Africans of  Mwanza will today seek to stage another upset this time at their own back yard when they entertain Dar es Salaamsgiants Yanga in an eagerly waited clash today at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in the lakeside city of Mwanza.

 

Yanga who are perched at the top of the Vodacom Premier League with 62 points, four above second placed Simba would want to win the match to ease pressure  from. potential challengers Azam and Simba.

 

The Jangwani based side are also in the final of the Azam Federations Cup after being awarded an aborted match against Coastal Union. They will face Azam who edged out Mwadui in the final whose date has not been announced.

 

Toto Africans led by J Tegete  are hopeful of shocking the visiting giants and are rallying their fans to come in large numbers to cheer them. Toto Africans Chairman Godwin Aiko  speaking to Soka25east  from Mwanza said he his optimistic that his charges would emerge victorius.

 

In another explosive match set for today, relegation threatened Coastal Union and African Sports will clash in an interesting derby with the loser moving closer to the drop. The two teams are in the basement of the 16 team league and are separated  by a point with Coastal Union at the 16th spot with 22 points, a point below African sports.

 

In other matches set for today. Mwadui FC will lock horns with town rivals Stand United in another derby in Shinyanga as Mtibwa Sugar entertain Mbeya City in Morogoro. Tanzania Prisons will battle JKT Ruvu the same day in Mbeya.

 

On Sunday, action will be at the National Stadium as Simba SC takes on moneybags Azam.
