Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA), Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) and North Zone have penned a pact to promote football development in the regions.

The corporation agreement inked today in Manama, Bahrain, where FIFA Congress is currently ongoing, seeks to among others strengthen ties between the zones in all matters related to football development and football administration.

They will also work to, “develop football competitions within the zones, for the zones and/or between the zones.”

The parties agreed their corporation will include, but not be limited to among others development of women’s football, development of youth football, infrastructure development and matters related to marketing sponsorship, fundraising, merchandising, TV rights and the outsourcing of the assets.

COSAFA and Zimbabwe FA boss Dr. Philip Chiyangwa who was among those present during the signing ceremony expressed confidence in the new formed union (COCENO) dispelling notion it could work against the spirit of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

“It will be better known as COCENO and we intend to boost the Ahmed’s presidency,” the self-procclaimed King of selfies said.

Chiyangwa was recently appointed the vice president of the African Cup of Nations committee.

He was among the key figures who championed Ahmad’s campaign which successfully ousted long standing CAF president Issa Hayatou with the Madagascan assuming the reigns in March this year.

Also present was the South Africa FA president Dr. Danny Jordaan who is the president of the marketing committee of CAF.
