Angola beat Sudan 1-0 on Thursday in a Group C match of  2016 Cosafa U-20 Championships played at Mogwase Stadium in South Africa

Angola forward Sacalumbo scored the important goal in 37th minute with Sudan failing to level matters on 63rd minute when Walaa Mohammed missed a penalty.

The southern african nation dominated much of the first half and created a host of opportunities thanks to some great interplay between Miguel and Morais upfront.

Miguel was a constant threat throughout and troubled Sudan’s left back.

Mudile was guilty of fluffing plenty of chances in the first half in which Angola could have ended with two goals to the good.

It was Sudan who began the second half strongly and created a couple of chances but still couldn’t find the back of the net.

They were made to rue those misses when Wallaa Mohammed missed a penalty that was saved by Angola keeper, Eduardo

The miss sparked life into the attack and it wasn’t long before Mudile who was a constant menace for the Sudan defence all afternoon, neally found an equaliser with a shot out of target.

Sudan also had another chance to equalize in 75th minute when Catraio ran with the ball down the right hand side and his cross-cum-shot beat Balburdia for flight, wrong-footed the keeper but his shot went wide to the disspointment of the crowd.

Angolans responded with fast flowing football pulling the strings in midfield and running at the visitors’ defence but could extend their lead.
