Botswana U-20 team were beaten 2-0 by their Swaziland counterparts in their opening Group A match of 2016 Cosafa U-20 Championships played on Wednesday in South Africa.

Botswana were hoping for a win to put themselves in contention for a place in the next stage as they had never lost to Swaziland since 1992.

Head coach George Mogopondi named a starting line-up that had Mothosi Cooper and Mpho Kgomo in attack and Ronaldo Fortune on the flanks.

The Swaziland started well but Botswana responded and started to dominate possession.

Zebras pushed to get a leveller but were stopped by a strong defence which remained solid in better part of the game.
