David Sesay thankful for Harambee Stars call-up but keen to stave Crawley off relegation

Kenya’s Harambee Stars new call up Crawley Town’s David Sesay may after all not make it for the international duty next month against Ghana’s Black Stars as the defender is keen to help his club stave off relegation.

Sesay has impressed in League Two this season playing on the left rather than his favoured right side and is being tracked by  West Bromwish Albion.

The uncapped 20-year-old is grateful for Kenya’s interest and subsequent call up to the National team but wants to help make sure Crawley are not sucked into a relegation scrap. They current sit nine points ahead of the drop zone.

Kenya are facing Ghana in an African Cup of Nations qualifying game on March 21, just two days before Crawley face Lincoln.

Championship teams will be at Crawley’s fixture at MK Dons on Saturday afternoon to run the rule over Sesay as he continues to generate interest.

West Brom appear to be the frontrunners for Sessay who would expect to cost in the region of £350,000.

Sesay came through Watford’s renowned academy and made the switch to Crawley last summer.
