Federation of Djiboutian Football on Monday disbanded the national team for “never ending series of bad results.”

The Shore Men of the Red Sea were hammered 5-1 by Ethiopia in the Kenya 2018 CHAN second round qualifying match first leg played at El Hadji Hassan Gouled Aptidon Stadium, Djibouti City Saturday.

The heavy loss prompted the federation to disband the team and its entire technical bench. FDF has also withdrawn the team from the return leg in Ethiopia.

Ranked 185th in the latest FIFA ranking, Djbouti have never qualified to any major tournament. They have lost their last six matches conceding twenty six goals, while scoring once.
