Does Micho have time

DOES MICHO HAS TIME

By Rodewell Mbewe

Its a crushed program. And it does not come any easier for any coach. Especially, when you are a new appointee. More so its a whole new country that you are landing. And if anything I don’t envy Micho’s job at this point in time.

But it would appear, the man has all the time at his disposal.

Zambia seats at the bottom of the table in group qualifiers for the 2021 Afcon tournament. After 2 loses in 2. Knocking on our door step our fellow neighbors Botswana. They took a point away from Zimbabwe and lost at home narrowly to group favorites and pace setters Algeria.

They are going to give us a good run for our money. Considering that we been conceding goals.

Micho has called over 100 players in his first two different call ups for Northen region and southern region. That is what is worrying me the most. Seemingly the man wants to cast his net wider. That being good, but do we have the luxury of putting these boot camps. In the long term its good strategy but in the short and urgent time. Its suicidal.

And CHAN of course! It’s not like we have the luxury of time bwana MICHO, we are seriously undee pressure and the root of selecting may not be good with time.

Everyone knows that we have core of about 20 or players that he can start with and slowly after watching some more games locally he will be able to fuse in and out gradually.

This strategy similar to a trial camp, may not yield instant results but good for the long term.

For AFCON which is less than a month away, MICHO should have players already and am sure we know them, that could be a starting point and he can revert to his 100 players after these two urgent engagement!

Anyway,it’s from the terraces am talking from and not on the pitch! He is on the pitch and sees better.

AFCON qualifiers are next with Botswana back to back
