Ghanaian International Isaac Coffie  who has one cap for the Black Stars has completed his switch to Spanish Segunda Division team Real Sporting Gijon from Genoa.

Coffie, who is 26 year-old joined the Los Blancos as a free agent on a two year-deal after  completing his medicals on Tuesday.He leaves the Red and Blue outfit after almost a decade.

At Genoa, the defensive midfielder played 28 games across all competition and found the net just once.

He’s had stints with Carpi, Chievo Verona, Sassuolo Calcio and Piacenza Calcio.

Here’s a statement from the club’s official website confirming the deal:

“Isaac Cofie, new reinforcement. He is Ghanaian, comes from Italian football and plays as a midfielder”

“Midfielder Isaac Cofie (Accra, Ghana, September 20, 1991) has become the last reinforcement to arrive at Sporting for next season.”

” It measures 1.84 meters, weighs 75 kilos and comes from Genoa in Italy, the country where he has developed most of his professional sports career.”

“He has played in Genoa, Torino, Piacenza Calcio, Sassuolo Calcio, Chievo Verona and Carpi.”

“The Ghanaian player will train tomorrow with the rojiblanco team in Mareo and later will be officially presented at the roji blancos facilities at midday.”
