Nigeria Premier League club El-Kanemi Warriors have completed the signing of Gambia goalkeeper Alagie Modou Jobe on a two-year contract.

Toldo as fondly called, will join the Maiduguri-based club from Senegalese side ASC Linguère whom he joined last year.

He made his mark in Senegalese league football when he joined Niarry Tally in a permanent transfer three years ago, winning the 2015 Senegalese FA Cup with them.

“I want to help El-Kanemi Warriors win the league trophy and also take the team to a higher level in African football,” the 29-year-old net minder said shortly after putting pen on paper.

The former Real de Banjul goalkeeper, who has captained The Gambia national team for several years, has been a surrogate in between the posts for the country’s teams for the past decade.

El-Kanemi, a team from the Borno State, finished sixth position in last season’s Nigerian Premier League with 56 points.

They are a club formed in 1986 and play their matches at the 10,000-capacity El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri.
