Emmanuel Eli Keke has described his first season with Icelandic second-tier side Vikingur Olafsvik as encouraging.

Eli Keke joined Vikingur Olafsvik from Ghana Premier league side Dreams FC last summer and immediately hit form for the Olafsvik-based side.

He was named Vikingur Olafsvik player of the season over the weekend after enjoying a terrific campaign for the club in which he scored 3 goals in 19 games across all competition.

The 22-year-old midfielder in an exclusive chat with soka25east.com opined:”I must say it was an encouraging one, judging from the fact that this is my first full season in Europe.”

Asked if the club was content with their display, he noted: “I believe my club were happy with what we did this summer as they weren’t expecting such performance from the players due to some difficulties encountered.”

Eli Keke was voted the best player in the entire league midway through the season.

When quizzed, if he is going replicate this same performance next term, he noted, “I am always looking to improve as a player and a person. It’s not easy maintaining such a level so i need to work hard and motivate for next season.”

Vikingur Olafsvik finished 4th in the just-ended season with 42 points.
