Uganda moved to the top of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group after an impressive 3-0 win over Lesotho at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala on Saturday.

Uganda dictated terms from the first whistle and opened the scoring in the 11th minute thanks to a strike from Emmanuel Okwi, 1-0.

The home side doubled their lead from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Farouk Miya found the back of the net, 2-0.

Lesotho offered very little in attack and were lucky to get to the break only trailing by two goals.

The second half was more of the same, but Uganda were poor in the final third.

The home side, though, did manage to find a third in the 64th minute after a second goal from Okwi, 3-0.

Uganda took their foot off the pedal after their third goal and cruised to a comfortable win.

The win takes Uganda to the top of Group L with seven points while Lesotho are third with two points.

The two countries will lock horns again next week Tuesday in another 2019 Afcon qualifier.
