Rangers International of Enugu finally tasted defeat after 13 matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League , after their 2-1 loss away to struggling Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin.
Ranger travelled to the ancient city of Benin on Thursday with the hope of continuing their impressive run of form in the league, but it was the struggling home side who stepped up and took all the available three points.
Insurance of Benin took the lead six minutes after half hour mark through Junior Osagie, but the lead only lasted for three minutes as Kelvin Itoya hit the equaliser in the 39th minutes with the first half ending in a draw.
Rangers fell behind with seven minutes into the second half as Stephen Sodje beats Nana Bonsu in goal for Rangers International to put Insurance of Benin ahead .
Rangers was reduced to ten men after their Ivorian import Seka Pascal received his matching order after two yellow cards.
Rangers was unable to find away back into the game with Insurance of Benin defending for their lives and held on to their lead .
Following the defeat , Rangers remain on top of the log with 31 points after 15 round of matches, While Insurance of Benin moved up to 6th on the log with 21 points on the log of Group A.
