It was a dull affair in Adama as defending champions St.George succumbed to a second successive loss in Ethiopia Premier League when they were beaten 1-0 by Adama Kenema at the Abebe Bikila Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The match was slow paced from kick off with neither of the sides showing the zeal to score. The action revolved around the midfield with both sides applied short passes.

Adama had the better chances to get ahead in the match pushing St George to concede corners in the both halfs but they failed to capitalise on any.

It took 30 minutes for St.George to get a chance with Mintesnote Adane header getting off target.

Adama had better chances of getting ahead in second half, creating chance after another notable one being in the 60th minute when second half substitute Dawa Hotesa unleash a shot, that was deflected by the goal post as St.George’s custodian Firew Getnet was clearly beaten.

The last minutes of the game registered a better show for the hosts as fresh substitute and former St George striker Dawa Hotesa proved to be his former employer’s destroyer in chief.

The hit-man weaved through the defenders to score in the 81st minute of the match to hand the Adama a well deserved win.
