The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) has put off planned international friendly match with Tanzania which was scheduled for Saturday 8 in Addis Ababa due to prevailing political unrest in the country.

The horn of African country has in the recent past been hit by a wave of anti-government protests which has since spread to the capital Addis.

The decision is believed to have been a directive from the government which has been finding it difficult dealing with gathered crowds, sometimes leading to deaths.

Ethiopia’s national team “Walia Ibex” attracts huge number of supporters each time they play.

Tanzania’s Taifa Stars coach Charles Mkwassa has called off the team’s camp at Blue Pear Hotel, Dar Es Salaam.

Stars ranked 132 by FIFA would have gained in case of a win against the Walias who are placed 126.
