After another failed attempt to wrestle the Ethiopian Premier League title from arch rivals St. George, Ethiopian Bunna have reappointed Seerbian coach Dragan Popadic to lead them next season.

The contract is for one year renewable depending on performance, the club has confirmed.

Popadic, 70, finished second behind St. George in the 2015/16 season before matually parting ways with the Coffee makers at the end of the season.

The former Petro Atletico (Angola), Simba SC (Tanzania) and Express FC (Uganda) manager was the first foreigner to coach the team in its over 40-years history.

His replacement, a fellow Serbian, Vebojsa Vucicevic did not last either, and was fired eight matches into the current season for poor performance.

Gezahege Ketema succeeded him over the next eighteen matches before receiving the sack after falling out of the title race a few weeks ago.

Former player Edelu Dereje who was Katema’s deputy has been in charge temporarily and is expected to see the club through the remaining two league matches.
