Mutawakilu Zakaria says he would play for either AC Milan or Inter Milan before he hangs his boots.

Inter Milan finished second with 82 points on the pile while AC Milan secured the 6th spot with 66 points in the 2019/2020 Serie A season.

“In one of the top clubs with my family and preparing to retire my soccer career. AC Milan or Inter Milan. I enjoy playing in Italy because of my playing style,” Mutawakilu said, in an exclusively chat with soka25east.com

Michael Essien and Samuel Kuffuor were vital cogs during their playing days for Chelsea and Bayern Munich. The midfielder netted 9 goals in 58 appearances between 2002 to 2014 while the defender bagged just 3 goals in 54 outings between 1993 to 2006 for Ghana Black Stars.

Asked who he looked up to when he was coming up, the 23-year-old guardsman said: “Michael Essien and Sammy Kuffour. Because of their hardworking in the field of play and their calm life.”

Mutawakilu Zakaria began his footballing career with his Primary School team in Tamale. He, however, was scouted by one of his seniors (Aziz), who then took him to his colt team; The Green Eagles.

He moved to Real Republicans then to play for The Great Eagles later to UN Rangers; Tamale-based colts clubs. After completing his Senior High School education, he moved to Accra to live with his brother.

While in the capital, he got an opportunity to play for Tema Community 7 United in the National First Division for one season and moved to play for Second Division side, Global football Academy, a team owned by Mr. Talal Fatal, ex-owner of Metro TV Ghana.

In 2012, he joined Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak but was quickly demoted to the junior team, Auroras where he enjoyed plenty of football.

Two years later, he left Ghana for Swaziland to sign for the National First Division side, Piggs Peaks Black Swallows FC –  While there, he played 20 league games out of 22 without hitting the net. Same year, he had an invitation from an Italian football scout and coach of Rimini Calcio, Roberto Renze following a recommendation by a Ghanaian agent.

Zakaria spent just a year in the squad and another Italian agent came and took me to a Seria D side, FBC Dertona Calcio in January 2016.

He spent a half season with the Seria D team then left to the southern Italy to join ASD Trebisacce Calcio in the Excellence Lega where he played one season and then returned to the Udine to sign for another team called USD Torreanese in a first category Lega in the Fiuri Giulia Lega.

Presently, he is at Austria lower-tier side, SV Kirchdorf, a team he signed a year deal with last week after completing a mandatory medical examination.
