The Football Association of Zambia President Andrew Kamanga, said winning the CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup for the Zambian clubs is not farfetched.

The leader of football in Zambia was responding to the question by a soka25east.com reporter, about if the consistent and impressive performances, in the previous years by clubs from his country could pay dividents in the near future.

The slowly rising to the status of influencial adminstrator in African football–Kamanga said, considering the power play shift from North Africa to South, a triumph by the club from his nation, is not beyond the touching distance.

“They are not fartfetched. Over the years we have always waited for the North Africans to take a lead. But now the competition is quite open to even the Southern African teams.”

“So far, the teams from Cosafa have done well. A good example is Sundowns who have won the cup last year, from South Africa.”

There is a shift in the power-play when it comes to the Continental Championship. So we can only remain hopeful that one of our teams will do well, either Zesco or Zanaco who are in the group stages,” said Kamanga.

The 2017 U-20 AFCON winning FAZ President, believes that going forward, Zambia will be allowed to field more clubs in continental football. This increment could be one-step toward landing the continental Championiship.

A criteria known as “CAF 5-year rankings” is used by the African football governing body to determine how many clubs each national league will field in a particular year. The top 12 ranked national leagues are eligible to field both 2 Clubs in Champions league and Confederation Cup.
