Earlie Tuesday, Extreme Sports Ltd, the organizers of the successfully run and much celebrated SportPesa Super Eight Premier league (SPS8), partnered with the FKF Mombasa Sub-branch to extend its support to the FKF Mombasa Premier League.

The FKF premier league consists of 16 teams which compete in the top tier of the league, fixtures are played on a home and away basis. With the new partnership deal worth 7 Million Kenya shillings the sponsorship grants Extreme Sports title sponsorship thus the league will be referred to as Super 8 Mombasa Premier League. Extreme sports has put measures and ample resources to ensure the league is run in a professional manner. Extreme Sports aims to expand its operations across the country with Mombasa being the first region to benefit from the professionalism that Extreme Sports brings to football.

The sponsorship deal will cater for various administrative costs including match officials allowances to ensure the fixtures do not lack football officials to ensure fair play and smooth running of matches. The 16 football teams will also be outfitted with brand new football kits to ensure the teams are presentable while in action and to boost morale within the teams.

Trophies and cash prizes awarded at the end of the league will also be provided for by Extreme Sports to ensure the teams and players are adequately gifted for their stellar performance in the league. Cash prize for the league winner will be Ksh. 500,000, 2nd team will receive Ksh. 250,000 and 3rd team will receive ksh. 100,000

Match officials will also be outfitted with brand new kits by Extreme Sports. Football Kenya Federation will maintain its league mandate and continue to run and manage the league. Extreme Sports will however assign two members to oversee the running of the league to ensure smooth flow and execution of matches.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Hussein Mohammed, Extreme Sports CEO, said, “Tapping from our experience in running the SportPesa Super 8 league in Nairobi, we are pleased to venture into new frontiers in Mombasa county.

Extreme Sports aims to build and nurture talent amongst the youth, keep the youths positively engaged and out of crime, transform sports into a commercially viable industry and to offer employment through sports. The league also aims to bring healthy competition between teams within the Mombasa region.

Extreme Sports Limited is a professional sports management company, incorporated in 2001. The company was established with the view of supporting sporting initiatives at the grass-root level.
