Fasil Kenema quest for a better season after a calamitous 2016/2017 Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) campaign has seen the Emperors beef up the team with a number of experienced players in the offseason transfer window.

According to Addis Ababa based sports agency TBM Sport,the historic Gonder region outfit has brought to the team an additional five experienced players; Ugandan duo of Yasser Mugerwa,Robert Sentongo,Philip Dauzi,Christooher Omoseibi and Malian custodian Mamodou Samaki.

The Emperors emerged victorious as they win the interest of Uganda Cranes midfielder Yasser Mugerwa who was on the verge to join the 2016/17 Ethiopian cup champions Woliyta Dicha.

Mugerwa joins the Ethiopian PL record champions St.George from PSL side Orlando Pirates last summer for two seasons.

Saints & Mugerwa are parted away on mutual agreement after limited playing time.

Mugerwa is joined by other cranes compatriot Robert Ssentongo.

Ssentongo has landed in Ethiopia for a second spell as he had a 6 month stay at St.George some 5 years ago.

The former Simba,URA,Villa, kCCA forward is joined by other two Nigerian strikers.

Goal machine Philip Dauzi returned back to Ethiopia after one and half year stay in Kuwait & UAE.

Dauzi, who was Ethiopia PL golden boot winner once, had successful years clubs in the league like Electric, Nigid Bank.

His countryman, Christopher Omoseibi, joins Fasil from Ikorodu United. The former sunshine stars, Warri wolves forward has been in Moldova, Albania & Finland.

Malian 23 years old custodian, Michael Momodou Samaki joins the club from Malian Ligu 1 side ‘CS Dougouwolofila’ to replace the outgoing ‘Yohannes Shikur’.

Other Ethiopia National team players including Dawit Estifanos (Electric), Ramkel Lok (St.George), Biniyam Habtamu(DireDawa), Aynalem Hailu (Dedebit) and two other players from the lower league have joined the Emperors in the summer.

The team has camped in the hottest town ‘Debrezeyit’for pre-season preparation.

The Ethiopia PL 2017/18 season is set kick-off in late October.
