Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has communicated the new dates for the upcoming first round qualifier between Togo and Uganda Cranes.
FUFA Communications director, Ahmed Hussein confirmed the new dates to the media during the weekly press conference held at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala on Wednesday.
“FUFA has received communication from the Head of FIFA World Cup and Olympic qualifiers confirming new dates for the match between Uganda and Togo” Hussein said.
The first leg shall take place on Thursday, 12th November 2015 in Lome at the Kegue stadium at 15:30 hours before the return leg on Sunday, 15th November 2015 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole (Kampala) at 16:00 hours.
Earlier, FUFA had communicated Wednesday 11th and Saturday 14th November as the dates for the two encounters.
Before the second round, the lowest ranked 26 teams that were paired against each other faced off in the first round in October.
The 13 winners from the first round and the 27 other countries are competing in two-leg ties with winners progressing to a group stage. African champions Cote d’Ivoire will wait to face the winner between Liberia and Guinea Bissau in the second round.
Five nations are expected to qualify from the African continent for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to take place in Russia. Germany is the defending champion.
