Cecafa Women’s Championship 2016 runners up Kenya’s Harambee Starlets are expected back in the country Wednesday afternoon after an outstanding outing in Jinja, Uganda.

The team is expected to touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 2:45PM local time from Kampala and head to Ole Sereni Hotel along Mombasa road for a luncheon hosted in their honor by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the ministry of sports.

Starlets’ convoy of cars from the airport will include; the team bus, a roadshow truck, two designated police motor bikes and a chase car.

“Following Harambee Starlets astounding performance in the just concluded 2016
CECAFA Women Tournament, the government through the Ministry of Sports in
partnership with Football Kenya Federation, will tomorrow, Wednesday, September 21, 2016, host the team for a luncheon at the Ole Sereni Hotel along Mombasa Road beginning 4pm.”
A statement from the FKF to the media indicated.

Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) bound Kenyan queens who were touted as favorites in the second edition of the regional tournament, lost 2-1 to Kilimanjaro Queens in the final played on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Grounds, Njeru.

The Coach David Ouma’s side had not lost a single match prior to final the showdown.

Mwanahamisi Omari did all the damage on the fellow East Africans, scoring a brace with Christine Nafula netting the consolation for the Starlets.
