By Austin Oduor Otieno,

Kakamega Homeboyz continued with its fine form and are in pole position to return to the top tier with an impressive 4-1 drubbing of Muhoroni side Agro Chemicals at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Job Omuse was the hero as he netted his first hat trick for the side. Both teams   were not involved in the weekend Gotv Shield knockout and are set to play Palos and St Joseph’s respectively on the 24th of June 2015.

Homeboyz  maintain the top spot with 37 points from 17 games,3 ahead of second placed Zoo Kericho  who are at 34.

Agro chemicals still occupy the  13th place with  17  points same as Nairobi Stima who beat Modern Coast Rangers 4-2.

In other matches played over the weekend, moneybags Nakumatt who have spent a lot in the midseason transfer window were destined for shock  loss at the hands of 17th placed St Joseph’s Nakuru  and had to thank former Gor Mahia left back Christopher Wekesa who scored an injury time goal to level the scores at 2-2.

Nakumatt move a point  up to 23  but maintain the same spot at position 9.

St Joseph still occupy the  17th place with 14 points ,two ahead of bottom placed FC Talanta  who held high riding Kariobangi Sharks 1-1 in a match that saw FC Talanta’s Bernard Ongoma cancels Shark’s Ibrahim Kitawi’s  first half goal.

Kariobangi Sharks are perched at the 4th place with 30 points and are in the race for promotion.

George Maina started his reign at Rangers with a 2-0 victory over MOSCA .

The win pushed the Posta men to the third in the log with 32 points,2 below Zoo although Rangers have a game at hand.

Ligi Ndogo lost 0-1 at home to visiting BIDCO while Oserian held Finlays to a goalless drawin the Naivasha derby played at the ‘Old Trafford Grounds’ in Naivasha.

The biggest upset however was at the Kanduyi Stadium in Bungoma where hosts Nzoia United continued with their fine run and supremacy at the stadium with a 2-1 victory over Zoo Kericho.

Zoo were the first to score courtesy of Okoth Mambo but Nzoia quickly got into the game and scored quick goals in a span of ten minutes to see off a spirited Zoo Kericho .

The loss increases the gap between Zoo and leaders homeboyz to three.
